Associate Investigations Project Manager - Wellington New Zealand aspires to a decarbonised future through electrification. Transpower's key role in the transition to electrification is to ensure that our infrastructure, our systems, and our people are ready for the expected 68% increase in electricity demand by 2050.About the teamOur Grid Delivery division is accountable for the delivery of all work across New Zealand's transmission network. This includes project and maintenance work, delivered in conjunction with our service provider organisations. Transpower delivers approximately $300M capex and $100M in opex per annum.The National Delivery - Investigations team are responsible for the investigation and delivery of investment business cases for the national grid.Our team is growing, and we are keen to have a curious and driven Associate join us!About the opportunityBased in Wellington you will manage and coordinate the investigation phase of small or medium projects within substations, transmission lines, secondary systems, and the customer portfolio - with the full support of your team. There's a lot to learn and do, including:Planning and anticipating steps to ensure investigation projects are delivered in a timely manner and are of a high quality.Coordinating inputs from relevant groups within Transpower and externally to ensure timely project submission to management, the regulator, and/or the customer for approval.Responding to requests for information e.g. project information status, approvals, variations, etcYou will be buddied with, and mentored by, a Project Manager and assigned projects by your National Delivery Manager that will give you variety, challenge, and opportunity to learn so that you may progress to a fully-fledged Project Manager over time. Training will be provided by the Project Management Office (PMO), and you will join a cohort of Associate Project Managers where you can share your learning and develop your critical thinking and problem-solving skills together.While your key focus will be on delivering projects, you will also work with stakeholders to implement business change.About youKnown for your initiative and drive, you are comfortable working at pace, asking questions and giving people a nudge to push things forward. You achieve phenomenal outcomes due to your good relationship management, diplomacy, active listening, maturity, and common sense.With so many projects coming into the pipeline you will be kept on your toes!
