Assistant Store Manager

ITM are New Zealand’s largest group of independent timber, hardware and building supply merchants. Waitara ITM pride themselves on providing customers with great service, value and a vast product range – and they’re now looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join the team!
This role is a great opportunity for a high-performing individual who wishes to grow their career. You will have the opportunity to learn in-depth what it takes to run and operate a successful store which services the trade, DIY, Rural and Retail markets of the northern Taranaki area.
A hands-on role working alongside a dedicated team of five, you will be responsible for fostering a team culture which enables the successful delivery of sales and service within the store. As you learn to understand the business, along with ITM’s products and systems; you will eventuate to be the right-hand to the Store Manager across a range of responsibilities. This is a varied role where no-day will be the same!
To be successful in the role, you will be already familiar with building material and systems; along with demonstrating the following skillset -
• A passion for customer service excellence
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Established problem-solving skills and detail orientated
• Willingness to learn and eager to develop
• Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
This is a full-time position and the successful applicant will be required to work Monday to Friday, including rostered Saturday work to fit in with team. You must be physically fit as heavy lifting is required in this role.
