Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting an Assistant Project Manager. The role will be responsible for supporting the Project Management team within Campus Development and the wider Property Services group with their programme of work by ensuring the delivery of minor projects to specification, on time and within budget.
You will also undertake project administration in support of the Associate Director, Campus Development to align with the programme objectives and ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the programme of work.
You will be a member of the Campus Development team and report to one of our Project Delivery Managers.
As a team within Property Services, the Campus Development team is responsible for the coordination of new building projects, major building refurbishments and smaller capital and infrastructure work programmes undertaken on behalf of the Asset Management team.
Property Services delivers quality facilities and services for our students, staff and the wider community to enjoy, by building and maintaining a sustainable environment which enables and supports the University's research, teaching and learning.
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is aresearch, teaching and learning institution. Campus Development would look to support each mentee with a specific mentoring programme based on experience, and broadening areas needing to be developed.
You will
Be a good communicator, with a strong ability to be able to form strong relationships with our clients, stakeholders, contractors, consultants and the operational team.Have relevant experience in a project administration role with a building and construction industry component.Have an understanding of the project management lifecycle and methodologies, coupled with project management experience or relevant Prince 2 or PMI certification.Have a sound knowledge of and experience in building construction, contracts and/or facilities management.Be able to quickly handle new or urgent demanding situations that come your way, be agile, flexible and pragmatic, with a high workload capacity in order to effectively meet the challenges inherent in the position. The Property Services team forms part of the Shared Services Group headed by the University's Chief Operating Officer. Property Services' purpose is 'creating inspiring places and spaces to enrich our community'. This role gives you the chance to work alongside and build relationships with Property Services staff, a wide range of suppliers, construction contractors and consultants.
If you enjoy being part of a supportive team environment, then this role gives you the chance to work alongside a wide range of Project Management, Asset Management and Facilities Management professionals.
