About this roleCombine your passion for empowering others – pass on your knowledge and make a difference.Enjoy an environment where no two days are the same.Nga kawenga |About the role We are seeking a motivated leader to support the Health Centre Manager in overseeing daily coordination, staff management, and the provision of on-site health services. The team consists of both clinical and non-clinical staff where you will thrive working in a complex and challenging environment.
The Health Services Team deals with a broad range of general and mental health issues, respond to emergencies, consult with external health services and undertake health education for this high health needs population. Working collaboratively with Doctors, Allied Health professionals, external agencies, and other Ara Poutama Aotearoa (Department of Corrections) staff you will promote a philosophy of care within the prison which ensures the delivery of quality primary health services to those in our management. The ability to form new relationships is vital in this role.

You've worked in primary/community, secondary, or tertiary health settings, gaining valuable experience with acute and complex health issues. You grasp the professional, ethical, and legislative aspects of health service care, especially in a prison context.
Your skills in literacy, fiscal management, leadership, and management are top-notch. You can showcase your business savvy in a healthcare environment. If selected, you'll become part of a driven team committed to integrating a Kaupapa Maori model of care into health services.
