Horizon Networks, based in Whakatane is recruiting for a self-motivated individual to fill the Asset Inspector position on a full-time and permanent basis.
Reporting to the Asset Risk Lead, the purpose of the role is to: Carry out cyclic asset inspections and testing Horizon Network's field assets as directed by the Network's programme of workProactively identify assets that may be unsafe or unreliable and capture them using digital field devicesIdentify the defects, and process them according to Network's defect frameworkMaintain positive long-term relationships with the Network, other staff, landowners and customersPerform ad-hoc tasks including but not limited to cable locate, high-load, field verification, and other works reasonably aligned with the purpose of this role and the capability of the employeeParticipate in the development of Horizon Networks Health, Criticality and Risk frameworks and reporting system. To be successful a candidate will require the following qualifications and experience: Current NZ Electrical Practising LicenceQualified Linesman or ElectricianElectrical Trade CertificateCurrent Manual NZ Drivers LicenceOver 5 years in Electricity Distribution is desirable however not essentialGood knowledge of relevant electricity industry rules, regulations and best practicesKnowledge of electricity distribution equipment (low and high voltage)Accurate field data entry in electronic devices, e.g. tablet, mobile or desktop computerGood computer literacy in Microsoft, iOS and Android devices are necessaryAccurate assessment of asset conditionPhysical fitness is essentialAble to navigate remote rugged terrain by vehicle and/or on foot.
