As a Merchandise Planner in the Apparel Merchandising team, you will effectively be the commercial lead within your area of the Product department, evaluating performance against forecast and taking relevant action to drive key commercial outcomes of increased sales and profit. You will be responsible for your respective product group strategies; sales, gross profit percentage and profit dollars; assortment range planning selections; promotional pricing; and influence the range line plans in collaboration with your Product Manager and Designer and other key stakeholders.
The key responsibilities for this role include:
Initiating and leading the forecasting of plans for your Product Group along with the timely and accurate placement of Purchase Orders with Suppliers in line with the Critical Path
Managing the timeliness of deliveries of Purchase Orders ensuring compliance for promotional activity is adhered to
Collaborating with the Product Manager, Designer, Fabric Team and Garment Developers in delivering a range that is innovative, commercially viable, and reinforces Kathmandu as a leading provider of Outdoor and Travel solutions
Desired skills and attributes:
Strong Numerical skills
Meticulous attention to detail, strong time management, organisation and planning skills
High level of computer literacy and analytical ability
Experience with forecast planning and reporting tools
Proven experience in garment, retail or related industry
Proven experience in purchase order placement and management as well as working with in-house design team
Ability to analyse trends and variance to forecasts and take appropriate action accordingly.
