The shelters are a critical point of contact for customers 364 days per year, whether reuniting lost animals with their owner, re-homing abandoned dogs or enforcing the Dog Control Act. Lead and manage a team of Animal Shelter officers who provide both proactive and reactive comprehensive, accurate and professional animal management services to ensure the wellbeing and safety of the public and the enforcement of Council bylaws.You will be keen to be key in an environment that fosters voluntary compliance, supported by strong and targeted education programmes. We need you to have at least 5+ years' experience in animal management, and 5-7+ years' experience managing or supervising a team, preferably with experience of financial management. The work can be difficult but is also rewarding.
