Analytical Scientist

Our client is a leading edge commercial laboratory who provides food safety and biosecurity services to the food and primary production sectors worldwide. Wholly owned by the NZ Government, they have built a solid reputation for delivering expert services and value to the entire food supply chain. Every day their team of 1700 experts, based at over 100 locations throughout Australasia and Singapore, work alongside customers in over 40 countries worldwide, to assure the safety and quality of food being produced for millions of people.
They are currently looking for an Analytical Scientist to join their Wellington based team. This team undertakes sophisticated analysis of veterinary medicines, pesticides and environmental contaminants in a wide variety of food and environmental samples. This work is extremely specialised and requires a high level of analytical chemistry experience.
These roles are permanent full time roles and will require candidates who have a proven track record in analytical chemistry. The ideal candidates will need to be degree qualified to either Masters or PhD level with a specialisation in analytical chemistry. This experience includes developing sample extraction, clean-up methods along with instrumental analysis methods. You will need to have specific experience in various Gas and Liquid Chromatography analysis of small molecules.
This role will also involve client contact therefore excellent communication and a friendly persona are essential. The need to be flexible and agile are also important to the role. You will be working in state-of-the-art laboratory facilities with advanced instrumentation with a highly experienced team.
