All aboutthe role As part of our Monitoring & Compliance team, this role isabout promoting environmental health within Porirua City by carrying outCouncil's regulatory functions. This role contributes to the minimisation ofharm caused by excessive or inappropriate consumption of alcohol, by carryingout the duties and functions of an Alcohol Licensing Inspector under the Saleand Supply of Alcohol Act 2012. In this role you will: Monitorlicensee's compliance with the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 by carryingout individual and combined agency inspections Assistthe Police and Te Whatu Ora in carrying out Controlled Purchase Operations Preparereports to a high professional standard on all alcohol licence applications forconsideration by the District Licensing Committee Workingalongside other teams in Council to minimise alcohol related harm in thecommunity Appearat application hearings, present reports and answer District Licensing Committeequestions All about you We are looking for someone with experience working withlegislation and bylaws, or someone who has the drive and ability to learn the relevantlegislation and bylaws required by for the Alcohol Licensing Inspector role. You'llneed to show us that you have: A proven ability to communicate effectively,and the confidence to clearly educate diverse members of the public The ability to learn and apply relevantlegislation Good attention to detail in report writing andgeneral administration skills Demonstrate a high level of resilience andpersistence in a challenging environment A high level of energy, good initiative and a can-doattitude.
