About the role Right now, we are looking for an exceptional registered health clinician to join a dynamic and friendly service in a permanent, part time position working 36 hours per week. This position is based in Dargaville but as a regional service, travel throughout Northland is involved so a current driver's license and willingness to travel is essential. Te Ara Oranga is a highly successful service offering support to those with methamphetamine use issues and focuses on group delivery to those who want to address their substance use. The aim of Te Ara Oranga is to reduce the demand for methamphetamine through community and individually targeted projects that align the resources of Northland Police, Te Whatu Ora, non-government agencies and the community. The combined effort offers a model that improves the opportunity to reduce supply – through focused enforcement – and demand by supporting individual users to stop using methamphetamine. This role offers opportunities which include case management, assessment, monitoring, varied group work and liaison across the health sector. Applicants need to possess a willingness to professionally develop and be a positive team member. Our ideal candidate will be: · A qualified health professional with a current registration such as a Registered Nurse, Social Worker or be eligible for DAPAANZ registration · A commitment with the ability to work biculturally · Qualifications and/or training in counselling and facilitation skills in an individual, group and whanau situations · Excellent in written and verbal communication skills · Committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi It is essential you have previous experience in substance abuse treatment with an understanding of the needs of individuals and whanau facing such problems.
