Aggregates, Pavement And Soil Laboratory Technician

We are on the hunt for a new team member to join us in our Brand New Onehunga Laboratory! This could be your opportunity to gain hands-on experience and build your career in pavement Aggregates and laboratory testing. You will work on a variety of projects and gain exposure to working with different material types.
You will be part of our laboratory team, performing primarily laboratory aggregate and concrete testing. This gives you the best of both worlds working out on sites and inside the laboratory. You will require a reasonable degree of fitness as the role can be physical and may require you to work in adverse environmental conditions. The nature of the work means that you would need some degree of flexibility with early starts, late finishes and the occasional overtime from time to time. There also may be the potential to lead a team and develop your leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Undertake laboratory aggregate testing to New Zealand and International test methods
Work as part of a team to plan and meet workload demands
Work efficiently to turn work around quickly
Follow business processes to ensure consistent high-quality results
When required, lead other team members on projects
About you:
Ideally you will have experience in aggregate and concrete testing or a similar role
An interest in science and civil engineering
Previously experience in an accredited laboratory would be an advantage
Physically capable to lift 25kgs samples, handle and test aggregate and concrete samples
Some knowledge of civil engineering would be advantageous
Computer literate, especially excel and word
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
Can work well in a team or independently
Customer focussed
Holds a Full NZ drivers licence
Attention to detail
Potential to lead a team
