Policy Advsor Level 1: As an entry level Policy Advisor, you will be supported to collaborate on smaller, but still challenging and complex policy projects, and have the opportunity to contribute to the production of high-quality policy advice. This will support government priorities and our Toitu Te Whenua objectives.
There is also the opportunity to contribute to a variety of larger, high-profile policy projects and work collaboratively across central and local government on policy reforms.
Policy Advisor Level 2: For those who are more experienced with at least 2 years experience, you will have the opportunity to create, and contribute to the production of, high quality policy advice that supports government priorities and the Toitu Te Whenua LINZ outcome areas. You will also be able to contribute to a variety of policy projects and work collaboratively across central and local government on policy reforms.
The Policy Group work collaboratively, so we are looking for people who enjoy supporting and working alongside others to contribute to policy projects. You will get an opportunity to work alongside colleagues in the areas of strategy, regulatory stewardship, research and design.It is also important that you are forward thinking, can develop new, as well as test existing ideas; and that you are committed to making a difference.
Level 1: You will have an academic background in a field that demonstrates that you are a critical thinker,Have a theoretical understanding of cabinet, parliamentary and legislative processes,Show initiative, curiosity, flexibility and openness,Be able to communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly,Work collaboratively with other team members and stakeholders,Be a self-starter who actively makes suggestions and contributes to workThe annual salary range for this role is $64,000 - $78,933 dependant on experience.
Level 2: Cabinet, Parliamentary and legislative processes and the functions of central agencies and reporting requirements,A minimum oftwo years'experience working within a policy environment,Experience working on Maori-Crown policy issues desirable,Confident working alongside subject matter experts internally and externally,An academic background that demonstrates that you are a critical thinker,Initiative, curiosity, flexibility, and openness,Able to communicate complex issues clearly and succinctly,Work collaboratively with other team members and stakeholders.The annual salary range for this role is:$79,000-$102,000 dependant on experience.
