Advisor/Senior Advisor

We are looking for an enthusiastic person with a keen interest in immunisation to join the Public Health Group within the Population Health and Prevention directorate. The role of the directorate is to provide leadership and advice on overarching public health matters.
The immunisation team is located within the Ministry's Population Health and Prevention Directorate and is primarily responsible for implementation of the National Immunisation Schedule, policy and infrastructure delivery, and monitoring immunisation coverage and performance.
The role offers great variety and challenge and will include involvement across a range of projects related to the National Immunisation Programme, childhood immunisation, monitoring and reporting functions and implementation of a significant Immunisation Schedule change in 2020.
To be successful in this role, you will be an energetic and enthusiastic team player with a commitment to improving the health outcomes of New Zealanders.
You will also demonstrate:
a tertiary qualification in a relevant field
excellent communication skills
strong inter-personal and relationship management skills
proven ability to produce written material to a high standard
research and analysis skills, including familiarity with Excel tools.
A background in health or previous experience working for a government agency would be an advantage.
