Mitre10 has been around since 1974 and in time have grown into a $1.7 billion business with over 100 stores throughout the country, and we’re continuing to grow. With this comes a large number of suppliers that need to be paid – that’s where you come in.

While our stores are all owner-operated, an increasing number are looking to the Support Centre to provide a Bureau Service for their payroll and accounts payable function. Due to an internal promotion we are seeking anAccounts Payable Administratorto join our Albany based Support Centre on part-time basis,24 hours per week.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their Finance career who would like to develop their accounts payable skills and experience within a leading, NZ-owned retailer.

Reporting to the Accounting Services Manager, your main responsibilities will include:
To ensure accurate and timely processing of all data from daily data drop
Co-ordinate with Inwards Goods teams on processing local and M10 supplier invoices
Check that non-stock invoices are GL coded correctly and liaise with the Member Stores for approvals
Follow procedures and guidelines to open supplier accounts, verify supplier information and bank accounts
Maintain master supplier lists and codes for POS system by groups – non-trade, local suppliers and services as well as accurate records on all relevant ledgers
Supplier follow ups on any missing invoices/credit notes

Liaise with stores to close and renew outstanding credit claims
Participate in the gathering and analysis of member feedback to establish the value, satisfaction and expectations of the Finance Bureau Service
Assist with the review and improvement of the quality of each service provided in line with the identified customer feedback and
membership needs
Support in the development, implementation & achievement of actions to address the opportunities for improvement identified through process improvement
Provides general support to the wider bureau services team - accounts receivable functions.

This is an interesting and varied role that seeks a graduate with a relevant degree, excellent communication skills, strong MS Office and systems experience, outstanding attention to detail, ability to work to deadlines and a general “can do” attitude. Some basic accounts payable experience will be great but are not essential – this role is a chance to be mentored and coached as you grow your career.
