Accounting Manager

One of major clients based in Newmarket is looking forAccounting Manager. TheAccounting Manager – Revenuesis responsible for ensuring timely and accurate revenue and subscriber reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
The purpose of the role is to;
• Design, implement and maintain efficient and effective revenue reporting processes and controls
• Manage the performance and implement changes of the revenue accounting team+
• Research accounting issues, prepare position papers and formulate accounting policies related to revenue and subscriber metrics
• Ensure revenue recognition criteria are aligned with latest IFRS & US GAAP criteria, particularly around New Revenue Standard (IFRS 15).
• Provide detailed analysis and commentary to Business Performance Managers and Senior Leadership around changes in underlying revenue trends, products and metrics
• Work closely with key USA stakeholders regarding all aspects of revenue recognition and month end results
• Manage GL reconciliations process for revenue and related accounts, document processes and controls
To be successful in this role, you will need;
• Qualified Professional Accountant (ideally CA/CPA)
• Exposure to ERPS (such as Oracle/Microsoft)
• Previous exposure to Revenue related accounting principles (IFRS/US GAAP)
• Detailed working knowledge and understanding of the New IFRS 15 Accounting Standard
• Strong leadership and relationship building skills
• Good working knowledge of NZ direct and indirect tax
• Advanced MS Excel Skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
• Proven analytical, evaluative and problem-solving abilities
The ability to be interactive with clients and colleagues, intelligence, and motivation are also essential for this role.
