Business Focus are looking for a highly skilled Accountant whose expert accounting skills are complimented by their ability to build exceptional client relationships. Carrying out all aspects of the accounting service you will also be the go to tech person for all client related IT and IS queries and issues.
Working closely with the business owner this is a varied role with plenty of scope to drive your career into the future. For the right person, the sky is the limit with how far you can take this role.
Key responsibilities include:
• Building and maintaining exceptional relationships with clients
• Completing annual special purpose financial reports and associated income tax returns
• Providing sound assistance to clients with systems and procedures, including use of The Gap resources
• Working with clients to assist with management reports, KPI’s, budgets and forecasts and tax planning
• Taking sole charge of the office during the Supercars round in NZ and when Bathurst is on (yes, seriously)

To be successful in this role you will have highly developed analytical skills and a natural ability to problem solve to identify the best solutions for clients - we’re looking for someone who looks at the bigger picture. You will be a meticulous individual who is passionate about empowering clients through education and coaching. Attention to detail, trust and integrity are a must, along with the following skills and attributes:
• Minimum 7 years experience working in a New Zealand CA firm
• Passion for the accounting, management and advisory industry
• Strong technical skills and proven tax knowledge
• Highly developed IT and IS skills
• Strong business and commercial acumen
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to build rapport across all levels
• Self managing with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
• Proven experience using accounting software packages
