At DGC we manufacture exceptionally high-quality and well-regarded infant formulas, feeding babies and supporting families all over the world.About the role:The role of Second in Charge (2IC) is to operate the Drying Plant efficiently, ensuring that all plant activities comply with the Plant Product Safety Programme, Quality Systems, relevant legislation, and codes of practice including local council requirements, as well as meeting Plant KPI's around plant changeovers and production specifications to ensure production targets are met. Additionally, the 2IC will cover the Team Leader role from time to time when the Team Leader is performing other duties and takes on the responsibility of leading the shift. They may also be required to provide continuous cover for the Team Leader role, for a period that would generally not exceed two calendar months.About the responsibilities:Ensuring high-quality goods are produced in the DGC Drying plant/s according to SOPs.Meeting product mix requirements, following formulations.Following the production program to meet production timeframes.Working effectively and communicating within and across shifts and other departments. Planning and prioritizing appropriately to ensure the most effective use of time and resources. Conducting plant changeovers within target timeframes.Providing relief to cover other roles as requested.Ensuring plant operations are managed, to meet all production plans on time.Ensuring all systems and procedures are followed and all documentation completed.Escalating plant performance concerns appropriately.Supervising the achievement of all shift-based KPI's.Reporting and interpreting plant performance data. Ensuring the warehouse is operated effectively and that the stores are maintained at all times. Process improvements are identified and recommended to appropriate Team Leaders. Ensuring that very high levels of plant hygiene are achieved at all times.Ensuring housekeeping activities are undertaken promptly.The role involves a 4x4 roster, including day and night shifts.Key skills and experiences:Experience in the application of quality systems and improvement of systems.Previous experience in nutritional products and infant formula is preferred.Skills in supervising and leading people.Active and effective problem-solving skills.Flexibility and adaptability.Mechanical and technical aptitude.What's in it for you?In addition to a competitive salary, DGC provides other performance-based and employee benefits, an insurance package, and a supportive and friendly culture.
