Improve the health and wellbeing of our youth
WDHB are looking for a Registered Nursewith experience in Youth Health to work in St. Dominic’s College, Henderson asa school nurse as part of the Enhanced School Based Health Services programme.
This role will report to the TeamLeader, Child & Family Team at Waitakere Hospital and you will be based at St.Dominic’s College where you will work in partnership with the college toprovide Youth Health with a respect for the special character of St. Dominic’s.
In addition to this you will work alongsideother contributors in the district to provide primary health care services tosecondary schools in the Programme.
You will be youth-friendly and focussedas well as innovative, independent, and have the ability to engage with a rangeof stakeholders such as school management, School Based Health Service nursesregionally, General Practitioners, clinical psychology staff, Primary HealthOrganisations and Non-Government Organisations, to provide best practiceclinical services across the Programme.
You must be a NZ Registered Nurse witha current Practising Certificate and 5 years youth health experience, you will bea highly skilled communicator, exemplify lifelong learning and have strongyouth health nursing skills - particularly in the context of school basedhealth care nursing. In addition to this you will have a Post-graduate qualification in Youth HealthNursing and/or be on a post-graduate pathway. It is a given that you be anexcellent role model for youth health nursing and have an approachable andcan-do manner.
