As the Works Delivery Team Lead, your remit is twofold: Guide, mentor and coach a diverse team of Project Managers and administration support staff, across costs, labour, time and delivery requirements.
Simultaneously manage a portfolio of key projects of your own.
A day in the life of this role will see you: Lead, mentor, coach, and manage a diverse project team with a mix of skills and personalities, including 1:1's, project updates and regular team meetings.
Oversee a portfolio of critical projects, collaborating with external stakeholders such as DOC, NZTA, and our local councils.
Work closely with internal teams, including planning, asset management, network operations, finance and the like, contributing to project approvals, forecasting, and project reporting.
Drive improvements in safety performance and model the organisation's commitment to Health, safety and wellbeing.
Key Qualifications, Experience and Personal Attributes you'll bring: A Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Civil Construction, or a Trade Qualification within the field of electricity transmission or supply.
A Project Management qualification such as Prince2 or similar.
You're a proven leader with experience managing project teams.
A demonstrated background in electricity (energy, utilities), civil construction, or similar infrastructure projects, where technical know-how, such as trenching and cable running, are words you understand.
Great communication skills to work with both technical and process-based team members, external contractors, and service providers.
Experience managing projects from start to finish, with a focus on cost control, timely delivery, stakeholder engagement, safety and to a very high standard.
