Weekend Support Worker

About the role:
This position involves assisting two young men living with disability to engage meaningfully in personal; community and family activities. Providing regular assistance with personal cares and communication. Good physical strength is required as Transfer assistance is ongoing in their daily care. This role is a team effort. An interest in NZSL and visual communication is also desirable.What we are looking for:
Are you fun loving, energetic, enthusiastic, reliable and responsible? Can you think outside the square and take the initiative? Are you open minded and interested in working with people with various needs? Have you worked or had experience in humanitarian services or a related fields eg nursing; occupational therapy or support work?
You must be able to blend comfortably into a family environment during quiet times and busy times.When: Sunday morning from 9-12. Once training has been achieved further hours may be available.
There is also opportunities of extra work over school and public holiday periods.Where: This role would most suit a long-term or permanent resident of Dunedin who is able to offer a longer term commitment. We are looking for someone who is not in their final year of study in Dunedin. Own transport to the North East Valley area is also necessary.
