Waitstaff / Baristas(Seasonal & Full Time)Matheson Cafe is a cafe located in Fox Glacier at the start of the Lake Matheson Walkway. We serve specialty coffee and freshly made food, providing personal and friendly service and space for people to enjoy the stunning environment. We are open 7 days a week with Xmas day the only day we are closed. We are a small team who value a friendly, fun and team-oriented work environment.We have a full-time barista/café assistant position available for an immediate start.• Preparing and serving beverages to customers to specialty coffee standards with speed, accuracy and efficiency• Serving customers at the register, clearing tables and answering customer questions• Preparing food items, following cafe recipes, standards and instructions in a timely and efficient manner when required• Restocking food and drinks cabinets, and providing a daily ordering list• Cleaning and washing of cafe plates, cups, utensils and kitchenwares as requiredWe are looking for an experienced barista who is confident and comfortable in a fast-paced and friendly cafe environment who can get up to speed quickly. This person will need to be able to:• Produce drinks with latte art consistently• Produce drinks at a rate of 2-3 per minute to specialty coffee standards• Have strong customer service skills and believe in building strong customer relationships• Have great interactions with customers and provide services with a smile• Show experience in basic food preparation and food hygiene.• Be open, with an attitude and mindset for growth• You'll need to be a quick learner, and have the flexibility to work on a 7-day roster that will include nights and weekends.
