The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre is Aotearoa New Zealand's contemporary art museum and the global home of Len Lye's art and ideas. Our mission is to research, commission, present and collect exceptional art of our time with an emphasis on Aotearoa New Zealand, the Pacific, and Len Lye. We offer an integrated experience for audiences and peers through exhibition, education, mediation, outreach, and publishing, amongst other activities.
We have an exciting opportunity for a person with a collaborative outlook and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment to join the team in the role of Visitor Experience Coordinator (part-time, 24 hours per week). Reporting to the Business Development Lead, the purpose of this role is to ensure friendly and informative experiences for visitors to the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre by coordinating a friendly, informative and professional team of Information Officers.p
Your focus will be ensuring Information Officers are equipped with the information and systems they need to ensure a positive and safe experience for customers. You will also ensure that the presentation of galleries and other public spaces is consistent with industry best practice. You will be an accomplished communicator with sound interpersonal skills and a professional warm approach, showcasing your ability to form strong relationships with a diverse range of people.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in managing people. Knowledge about contemporary art would be advantageous. Most importantly, you will be a team player with excellent organisational skills and have strong customer service and communication skills.
