Position Overview

We are pleased to announce the opportunity to join the thriving Community Practice team within the Massey University Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) for a1-year fixed-term period.This position is the key contact for the service and will co-ordinate and facilitate high quality, efficient and timely support and coordination of patient care and case management.

In addition to general veterinary nursing, this position liaises extensively with VTH staff, veterinary and veterinary technology students, referring veterinarians and clients, and SPCA clients & staff. You will be required to display a high level of professionalism, excellent customer service, and represent the VTH and the Community Practice service appropriately and effectively in your regular and timely interactions with the internal and external community.

We are seeking applications fromeither qualified veterinary nurses or veterinary technologists.The successful applicant will work alongside our current nursing team in our Companion Animal Hospital.

The Companion Animal Hospital provides 24-hour 365 days per year emergency and inpatient care. You will be expected to work an average of 37.5 hours per week and participate in the on-call duty roster for companion animal services.

You should have well-developed organisational skills including the ability to coordinate workflows, determine priorities, meet deadlines and effectively balance competing clinical and administrative demands in a professional manner within a busy environment, be enthusiastic, motivated, service-orientated, have a genuine interest in undergraduate education and possess excellent communication skills.
