Trimble is recruiting for a UX Generalist to fill an opportunity in Christchurch, New Zealand .
Job Summary
The UX Generalist will assist the Caterpillar Trimble Control Technologies (CTCT) UX team with developing on-site, in-cab and office-based systems for precision control displays of the future for a vast array of construction and mining equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver end-to-end user experience solutions with a focus on user needs and business goals.
Utilize end user requirements to create compelling representations of the solution’s high-level interaction, navigation, and organization design.
Contribute to UX requirements and design by conducting research including, ethnography, surveys, usability evaluations, customer visits/interactions, phone interviews, etc.
Produce UX/UI artifacts, including but not limited to: sketches, specifications, wireframes, screen flows, workflows and clickable prototypes.
Develop meaningful prototypes (high and low fidelity) to demonstrate design, architecture and UI flow.
Utilize UI prototypes to communicate with product managers, software development teams, and stakeholders to assure UX quality and vision is maintained.
Build effective, collaborative working relationships with program management, strategy, product management, marketing, and engineering to deliver best in class solutions.
Collaborate with a globally distributed customer experience (CX) organization including UX, user assistance, training and simulation.
Shift easily among projects in a variety of size and scope. Easily shift between changing priorities.

Skills & Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree preferred in user experience related discipline: Design/Arts, Industrial Design, Information Architecture, Interaction Design, Interface Design, Human Computer Interaction; Human Factors Engineering or Psychology related discipline.
3 – 5 years of experience as a professional Information Architect or UI front end developer working on complex interactive projects.
Experience with design or user experience for highly technical products.
Positive attitude, ability to take critical feedback.
Ability to guide complex projects from initial concept to production and post-launch evaluation.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
Excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills.
Ability to work proactively, with limited direction, and manage projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment across multiple time zones.
Strong understanding of cognitive psychology principles and UX principles and practices.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications and Sketch.
Knowledge of a variety of UI frameworks, design systems, component libraries and prototyping tools.
Ability to travel approximately 1 week per quarter, including internationally.
Front-end development skills, knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript are nice to have. Android development tools (xml, Java, etc.) are nice to have. Mobile app development is a nice to have.
