About the organisation: Dunedin City Treasury Ltd (DCTL) is a Council Controlled Organisation (CCO), owned by Dunedin City Holdings Ltd (DCHL), with the ultimate parent being the Dunedin City Council. DCHL is the governing shareholder of eight subsidiary and associate companies that own and manage key assets that provide benefit to the city. DCTL provides treasury and funds management services to both the Dunedin City Council and DCHL companies, together known as the Dunedin City Council Group. About the role: As a Treasury Analyst, you will work within a tight knit team along side the Treasurer managing the funding requirements of the wider Dunedin City Council Group. Additionally, you will take a large role in assisting with the management of the city's Waipori Fund, a diversified investment fund. Key responsibilities of the role include: Execution of daily transactions relating to borrowing and lending activity. Execution of transactions, journal entries and assistance with preparation of financial accounts for the Waipori Fund. Work in close partnership with the Treasurer, managing the financial markets risks of the Group including bond issuance, funding strategy, interest rate and foreign exchange risk management activity. Assistance with preparation of annual accounts and budgets. Assistance with internal and external reporting and compliance. Maintaining efficient working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. About the successful candidate: We are looking for a Finance / Accounting professional keen to build their career in treasury management or financial services. Ideally you will be a Chartered Accountant (or working towards) who is looking for a position where they get to learn debt origination, interest rate risk management, foreign exchange, investment portfolio management, financial reporting, credit and gain exposure to financial markets. In addition, the successful candidate will learn monthly budgeting and reporting processes. This is a broad, interesting role with scope, which can lead to excellent future career opportunities! As this role is a not a stock-standard accounting position we are looking for someone with excellent inter-personal skills.
