We are now looking for a Training & Development Manager to join our team and manage, influence and lead the process to substantially and sustainably build and develop future talent.About the roleDon’t let titles fool you, this isn’t a doing role, it’s a strategic role requiring big picture thinking.You’ll be an integral part of the HR team reporting to the GM of HR. You will work closely with the operational business, Regional GM’s and other key stakeholders from start up phase through to development, implementation and ongoing management of a new technical training function.Initially you’ll be looking to:Understand current and future operational workforce needs, map required skillsets and work with recruitment to identify transferable skills, experience and attributesAssist with the creation of a strategic plan to meet the forecasted operational needsWork with current stakeholders to research training opportunities, internal and external, and create an overarching training planYou’ll then grow and develop an existing team of Learning Coordinators and Training Contractors to deliver and implement this plan.Longer term your focus will be to:Undertake training needs analysis for specific roles and managing the training programme and process to meet theseManage ongoing technical training requirements and qualifications for new and existing employees with a focus on apprenticeship programmesResource required training - identification and management of all trainers, employees and contractorsIdentify and resource mentors and on-the-job trainers from within the existing businessDevelop key relationships with the stakeholders across the business andManage external training provider relationshipsBased out of our either our Porirua, Hamilton Christchurch or Auckland offices, you’ll be part of our HR team, which is as diverse as it is technically strong, lead by the HR Person of the Year (she’ll hate me for putting that in).
