We are looking for a candidate to support Metro to plan and deliver Driver training for the upcoming level crossing removal projects. In particular, someone with excellent forward planning and resource management skills, as well as the ability to develop and execute training plans.

The critical success factors for this role are exceptional stakeholder management skills and highly developed communication abilities, both written and oral. The role involves being able to coordinate and prioritise a number of different resources and tasks and having a high attention to detail. A proven ability to own and run with providing solutions to challenges and instigating process improvements will be looked upon favourably.

An excellent working knowledge of MS Excel and Word is needed, in particular being able to develop forecasts, progress charts and training reports.

Previous experience in planning and coordination in an operational environment is essential, with experience in a rail or rostering environment highly desirable, though not mandatory.

Key tasks:

Planning of Driver training delivery for the upcoming level crossing removal projects around the network.
Negotiate and allocate training resources for the training events with internal stakeholders.
Support the delivery of the training events and management of issues arising.
Forecasting and tracking successful delivery via reporting and meetings with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:
Liaising with Rosters for the allocation of Training Officers and/or OJTs to project training events
Collection and storage of driver training compliance forms
Collating information from driver training forms and iPad applications, and inputting into spreadsheets and/or databases.
Create & distribute reports to relevant stakeholders and amend as necessary.
Ensure training materials are available for trainers to distribute to drivers undergoing training.
Forward planning to ensure resources are available for training events.
Attend training events and collate feedback from trainers for continuous improvement.
Administer the route competency database/spreadsheets and status of all Drivers in the system
Provide reports on the status of upcoming project training events and the highlighting of any risks
Support the development of the project training plans
Support the overall system that manages Project Driver training
Represent the group at internal and external meetings
Contribute to improving safety culture within MTM where the opportunity is available
Undertake other duties as required by the Training Planning and Delivery Manager
