About us
Housing New Zealand Corporation is a Crown agent that provides housing services for people in need. It isn't just about getting a roof over people's heads - we also work closely with others to ensure our customers have access to good support services.
Kainga Ora - Homes and Communities
On 1 October 2019, Housing New Zealand Corporation becomes part of Kainga Ora - Homes and Communities.
Kainga Ora - Homes and Communities brings together the three existing agencies of Housing New Zealand, HLC and KiwiBuild to form a new organisation.
Kainga Ora - Homes and Communities is central to the Government's aspirations for housing and urban development. It will work across the housing spectrum to build thriving communities where everyone has a place to call home.
This new organisation will have two key roles:being a public housing landlord, and partnering with the development community, iwi, and local and central government to deliver urban development projects of all sizes.
The start date for this new organisation is 1 October 2019.
Our role
Our Tenancy Managers are part of a team doing incredible work that provide people with good quality, affordable housing choices that meet a range of diverse needs. They are privileged to have the opportunity to take a more holistic approach and to support our tenants to have good access to jobs, amenities and services, and to thrive within their communities.
Tenancy Managers build meaningful and lasting relationships with the tenants in their portfolio, supporting them to maintain their tenancy with Housing New Zealand and to navigate life challenges, enabling them to live with dignity in their home and the wider community.
If you share our sense of social purpose, and are driven by the opportunity to help our tenants build a home for themselves and their whanau, we'd love to hear from you.
What you will bring:
We need people who care as much as we do, and are passionate about supporting people and their needs
You'll be a natural relationship-builder, relating to customers from all backgrounds and all walks of life
You'll be skilled at making sense of complex, sometimes contradictory information to effectively problem solve
Naturally, you'll have exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to adapt your communication style as necessary
As this role necessitates travelling across the Waikato region, you will have a full and clean NZ driver's licence (vehicle provided)

What's in it for you?
On top of job satisfaction like no other, a result of the truly rewarding work you do, we offer competitive salaries and five weeks' annual leave. Our benefits package includes a range of insurances, flexible working arrangements and career development. These benefits are described in more detail at https://careers.hnzc.co.nz/a-great-place-to-work/benefits
