Telecommunication Fibre Technician

Description
-Building and connecting fibre connections at both business and residential sites
-Carry out faulty network tasks including OSB and testing fibre
-Fibre optics fusion splicing, fibre blowing, termination to the patch panels and home network termination.
-Networking at the property Working in ceilings and under floor Civil works including trenching Installing aerial and underground cables Aerial pole works
-Familiarity with Health and Safety practices of the telecommunications industry.
-Carry out faults on copper and Fibre network using various test equipment including power meter ,OTDR
-Ability to operate concrete cutter and terrasaw.
-Installing and configuring of devices like Routers, a, ADSL, VDSL and VOIP modems
-You should also process the ability to trace and mark out services using utility service locator, ribbonet jointing and other aspects of UFB work.
You must have the following to be considered for the role:
-Excellent customer service
-Must be available on weekends
-Ability to travel when required and be willing to work occasional overtime
-Have a clean Class 1 driver’s licence
-A relevant qualification in Telecommunication or IT.
-Experience on the New Zealand telecommunications network for At least 2 years
-You should be familiar with Visionstream work practice.
-A current First Aid Certificate
-A site safe Passport
-Current WTC training certificates
-A current Traffic Control TC1 Certificates
-knowledge of NGA designs and Asbuilts
-Physical fitness
-Clean record
-Strong communication skills
-Advanced IT skills for hardware connections
-Ability to work unsupervised and within a team
