Technology Specialist - Change and Release

Exciting permanent role opportunity for a Level 3 Technical Specialist
Based in Wellington

Inland Revenue is currently undergoing one of the largest transformation programmes in Australasia. We're aiming to make the way we do business simple, more open and certain for New Zealanders and transform ourselves as an organisation. Our Information Technology Services and how we manage and share them with our people is a key part of this programme and has led to a position for a Level 3 Technology Specialist becoming available in our progressive and advanced IT Service Management Team.

The Level 3 role offers the opportunity for an IT-savvy individual to provide high level end-to-end technical services to improve customer experience and champion Inland Revenue's customer-centric and intelligence-led culture.

Enterprise change and release management is a capability that includes a set of policies, processes, practices and skills that will require a co-ordinated and holistic approach to manage change effectively across Inland Revenue.

We are looking for an experienced, technical-minded and collaborative person to represent Inland Revenue as a recognized subject matter expert and engage with external partners to develop and implement customer solutions which support better public services. You will be a quality decision-maker and have the ability to take a high end, system-wide view while identifying risks and making technical decisions of strategic significance, to support the right outcomes for customers, IR and the government.

Based in our new IT Service Management function you will develop and maintain senior level complex working relationships that enable a shift from reactive to proactive Change Release Management.

You can expect to be challenged with the following daily:

Leading the assessment, analysis, planning and design of release plans and packages, including assessments of risk and post-release reviews
Effectively managing Change Management activities and developing implementation plans for complex requests for change, while upholding the integrity of the service environment
Developing and enhancing customer and stakeholder relationships, dealing with complex issues and making quality decisions in a fast-paced environment
Applying your experience of Enterprise Monitoring Tools to support the adaption of tools and review and improve their usage while adhering to policies and standards
Providing technical advice and support and using data and intelligence to understand customers situations and resolve issues
Working with leaders to design and test exciting innovative solutions, while remaining up-to-date with emerging technology

Interested? Come join the team!

These are exciting times, and this is your opportunity to play an integral part in bringing IR's new `Operating Model for Technology' to life.
