The details:Permanent – Full Time, 40 hours per week (1 FTE)
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced medical laboratory scientist who enjoys working in the highly specialised and challenging field of flow cytometry.
About the service:
Waikato DHB Laboratory provide flow cytometry services to the Waikato and wider Midland region. We perform multicolour panels for suspected haematological malignancy, CD34 enumeration for autologous stem cell transplantation, lymphocyte subsets, PNH and EMA testing amongst others.
Responsibilities of the role:
Preparation and processing of patient testing on the Navios flow cytometer and working closely with the haematologist for interpretation and reporting.
The laboratory uses both Kaluza and Infinicyt Software for event analysis and experience with these platforms would be valuable. Involvement in new panel design and validation in areas of expected future testing such as MRD monitoring for leukaemia and myeloma would be expected.

Required skills & experience:
Will be registered or suitable for registration as a Medical Laboratory Scientist with the Medical Science Council of New Zealand
This is a permanent full time role. Hours of work will mostly be Monday through Friday, but some weekend on call duties may be required.
