Technical Lead - Building Assurance

Our Building Assurance team are proud contributors to the growth and development within our region. We put our energy into providing peace of mind through the delivery of building consent and inspection services to ensure buildings are safe for the people living and working in the Tasman District. We have a strong focus on customer service whilst providing high-quality compliance assessments of building designs for a wide range of residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
We are recruiting for a building professional to provide significant technical input towards ensuring compliance with Council's obligations under the Building Act, its ongoing status as a Building Consent Authority (BCA), and maintaining its accreditation.
You will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to the Team, overseeing the competency assessment cycle, and improving our process and quality management systems, while your ability to also deliver excellent customer service will be second to none. Your extensive building knowledge will be highly valued as will your ability to successfully mentor staff dealing with complex building matters.
We are looking for candidates with a great attitude, all-round knowledge and readiness to step into a stimulating and demanding senior building role. You will possess a relevant building construction, engineering or architectural design qualification, and have extensive practical experience working in the building construction or design industry.
You will have an aptitude for continuous learning as our industry constantly changes with legislation, product innovation, and changing methods of construction. You will also possess a natural aptitude to solving problems, suggesting business improvements, and working as a constructive team member.
