About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Team Leader - Workshop to join our friendly team and work in our new purpose-built state of the art workshop facility, based in East Tamaki, Auckland. In this role, you will be responsible for the effective conduct of inspection, servicing and repairing of our company vehicles, units and equipment to maximise operational availability. The role requires you to be able to provide 24hr 7 day call-out response on a roster basis.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Maintaining vehicles and associated equipment according to our company policy and vendor recommended programmes.
Conducting vehicle and unit servicing in accordance with our company Preventative Maintenance Programme.
Managing the Truck Workshop Team to ensure efficiency and quality of maintenance output including staffing hours and leave and monitoring training with the support of Training coordinator.
Conducting technical inspections (auditing), servicing, repairs and associated reporting.
Requisitioning of repair parts and associated consumables in conjunction with the Maintenance Inventory Controller.
Daily checks of all Vehicle Workshop tooling and equipment for serviceability and accountability.
Maintaining truck availability.
Providing regular updates to operational supervisors on repairs and maintenance of fleet.

To be successful in this role you will need to hold Class 5 Driver's licence and have National Certificate in either Heavy Auto Engineering or Welding and Fabrication with proven experience in maintenance of heavy road vehicles including hydraulic systems diagnostics and maintenance. Qualified in welding to AS/NZS 2980 is desirable for the ideal candidate. Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) would be an advantage.
We are looking for a true leader who can drive a positive health and safety culture;and lead by example. You will demonstrate mechanical aptitude with excellent time management alongside effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
