Come and join our newly established wagon assembly team at Kiwirail, Hillside. This role will lead a small team, ensuring the parts required for Wagon Assembly are well-managed and coordinated. At start-up phase, your role will be an integral part of the design and creation of the stores processes, before moving into a daily requirement of ensuring the inventory and stores run seamlessly. It's an exciting time to be involved with Kiwirail, as the Hillside site will employ over 100 people in total, creating a busy, exciting place to work. Join a friendly ,supportive team where the work is varied and interesting Based at Hillside, Kiwirail's latest development Busy and challenging , multipleroles and multiple start dates available Monday – Friday 40 Hours per week (7am until 3.30pm) Your Role: We have an amazing opportunity to join our newly established Team, responsible for the leadership of a small team of Stores people. You will be comfortable leading a team, whilst working as part of that team, and you will take ownership for the receiving, storing, picking, packing, and distribution of parts and materials, efficiently and economically. You will have an eye for detail and be comfortable operating forklifts in a safe way. This is very much a hands-on role and while computer skills are required, there will be no sitting behind a desk all day in this role! Establishing great working relationships within your work mates and beyond is key. Your Skills: You will have excellent interpersonal skills, be highly enthusiastic and enjoy a role that includes following procedures, instructions and problem solving, along with the following: Previous warehouse or stores experience in stock control, dispatch, inventory or similar. Knowledge of SAP warehouse stock management system or similar (preferred but not essential). Clean Class 1 NZ Driving licence essential, with Class 2 preferred. Competent forklift operator, with F and OSH endorsement preferred, however, can be obtained via Kiwirail. Strong organisational skills with a positive work ethic. Must be computer literate. Flexibility to work overtime on occasions as required. Physically fit and a quick learner, with enthusiasm and initiative.
