The Role
An opportunity has become available for aTeam Leader (Forensic Community Team)to joinGold Coast Health (GCH)where the focus of our 9000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to over 550,000 people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region.
You will take responsibility for
Operationally manage and provide advanced consumer-focused and evidence-based mental health clinical care, leadership and direction within the Forensic Community Team including the following:
Delivering assessment, consultation and specialised targeted intervention services for mental health consumers across the age range
Being a clinical expert resource for staff and champion proactive, contemporary mental health practice
Contributing to the development of clinical practice procedures, protocols and quality and service improvement activities to continually develop an innovative contemporary mental health service
Providing operational leadership to manage resources and develop a dynamic, flexible, resilient and skilled workforce
Leading the integration of the key objectives from the Strategic/Operational plans into service delivery for the unit
Representing MHSS at internal and interagency forums and build collaborative partnerships with health and other sector providers including government and non-government agencies or General Practice

Requirements for the role
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing or Midwifery
AHPRA registration
Appointment or eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under theMental Health Act 2016

Permanent full time
Base salary ranging from $120 856 - $126 105 per annum
Up to 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
17.5% leave loading

MHSS provide integrated hospital and community specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented.
Specialist services include the Forensic Community Team that provide for safe and effective management of consumers subject to Forensic provisions in compliance with theMental Health Act 2016.This team works to enhance the overall knowledge, skill and capability of the service to understand this specialist area and compliance with legislative requirements.
