At Disability Support Services (DSS) we support people with disabilities to live great lives that reflect their personal aspirations and choices. DSS provides support to over 250 people in a variety of residential settings across the Nelson/Tasman and Marlborough regions.

While most of our work is with people with disabilities, we also work with people with multiple support needs who sometimes communicate through behaviour which others may find challenging.
About the role
We are looking to appoint a Team Leader for one of our residential homes in the Nelson area supporting clients with high and complex needs. You will be an integral part of the team proving support and leadership, as well as pro-active day-to-day support to enable the people you support to live safely and be actively involved in their community.
Your hours of work will be Monday to Friday from 7.00AM to 3.30PM.
N.B. Disability Support Services are part of Nelson Marlborough Health, we are not however a medical/clinical service. We are a community based disability support service focused on quality of life outcomes, and the Enabling Good Lives Principles.
About you
You will have inspiring leadership skills and a strong commitment to the principles of person-centred support. You will also hold a certificate in Human Services, or an equivalent health or disability related qualification, and will have a sound knowledge of Person Centred support as well as good time management skills. Experience working in the field of autism would be advantageous.
This role is classified by Immigration as ANZSCO 423111 and applicants for this position must be NZ or Australian Citizens, or have NZ Permanent Residency, or a valid NZ work visa.
