Team Leader Building Inspections

Following an internal promotion, we are seeking a passionate, service-focused leader to join and lead our high-performing team of Building Inspectors.
In this role, you will manage and support the team to help Council achieve its goals of fostering positive development within our district while ensuring compliance with the Building Act.
As Team Leader, you will work closely with our processing and compliance teams, as well as other stakeholders, to promote a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
Join a highly regarded Building Consent Authority, re-confirmed by IANZ March 2024, and lead a dedicated team committed to excellence in building inspections.

Your role will focus on: Ensuring building inspections are undertaken accurately and efficiently within timeframes.
Providing customer-friendly responses to inquiries and offering technical advice to both council staff and the public.
Leading your team to meet and exceed operational targets while maintaining high standards of service.
To succeed in this position, you will also need: A thorough understanding of the New Zealand building consent regulatory framework, along with knowledge of the local government environment and relevant legislation.
Competency under the National BCA Competency Assessment system, ideally across a full range of building categories.
A recognised Regulation 18 qualification.
Proven leadership ability and a passion for leading teams and individuals to achieve their best.
Strong communication skills to effectively lead and liaise with various stakeholders.
Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills to manage the demands of a fast-paced environment.
