The Role: This pivotal role in the New Plymouth business will see you lead, build and manage the staff and project delivery of the Bridges and Civil Structures team. You will have between 2 to 5 direct reports in this role and will be focused on providing structural engineering and asset management services and ensuring that projects are delivered to a satisfactory level, on time and to both the clients and our budgets. You will work collaboratively and develop relationships with other Bridge teams around New Zealand, most importantly Whanganui and the wider North-West region. This role will be carried out in conjunction with a technical position. Your technical (core) position will be your primary position title; and it is anticipated that this Leadership role will require approx. 10%-15% of your available time. The successful candidate doesn't need to have technical bridge experience; people leadership skills and the ability to manage some projects for the team are key. Skills and Experience: A relevant tertiary qualification in civil engineering or related disciplines Appropriate PMAF accreditation (or equivalent) Current Drivers Licence Preferably a minimum of 7 years of experience in the industry as well as the ability and experience to provide leadership of a team by example. Technical bridge experience is not required.
