The University of Waikato Counsellor Education programmes are known nationally and internationally for their focus on narrative approaches to counselling.We are looking for a dynamic individual who will bring their excellent practice and research knowledge and a recognised contribution to the counselling profession to contribute to a team dedicated to excellence in teaching, research and postgraduate supervision.
As a Teaching Fellow you will have the skills and experience to provide leadership and innovation in teaching and undertake professional/community/iwi service activities in the Counsellor Education field.The level of appointment will depend on the successful candidate's relevant skills, knowledge and experience and salary will be in the range from $76,904 to $107,931 per year.
This is a full-time role (37.5 hours a week), based on our Hillcrest Campus.For more information on the role please see the position description.

– Who are you?You will have a quality record of professional experience in counselling and a desire to bring your expertise to our Counsellor Education programme.
Demonstrated teaching experience at all levels of study is required.A relevant Masters degree and professional registration is required along with recent counselling practice and professional supervision experience.
It is essential to be a member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors or other relevant professional organisation.You will have broad and in-depth knowledge of; narrative therapy and mediation, social constructionist theory, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and whakaaro Maori and counselling ethics.
