Tourism and Travel Tutor
We are a well-established private training organisation in Auckland. We are seeking relief tutors with experience in the Travel and Tourism industry to work from 18 November 2019 to 20 December 2019. Further opportunities may be available over summer as staff go on leave.
We invite applications from passionate, professional and energetic individuals who are available from Monday to Thursday during normal business hours. The position will be based at our Auckland campus. You will be using your skills to train and assess our students. Additionally, you will implement your excellent time management and organisational skills to ensure all administrative functions of your job, including lesson plans, marking of assessments, distribution of course material, and the maintenance of your own student records, are completed to a high standard.We are looking for someone who: Has experience in the industry and the classroom Can analyse student needs and provide guidance and support for individuals as required Will ensure students are fairly and promptly assessed Can manage the timely reporting of their achievements Is driven to prepare students for successful employment Will deliver units of the programmes leading to qualification Holds a relevant qualification in Tourism and Travel at Level 7 or above* Has proven ability to coordinate your activities to meet targets and deadlines with integrity Ensures excellent presentation and communication skills Passion and motivation for teaching and training young people Be committed to and actively support our values, mission statement and goals. Undertake on-going and appropriate professional development. Maintain appropriate health and safety practices in the learning environment. Qualifications
*Applicants need to hold at a minimum a qualification at least one NQF level higher than programmes offered by department in relevant area (i.e. Bachelor's Degree, or above).
Desirable: A postgraduate qualification is preferred.
Desirable: Hold the National Unit Standard 4098 and the National Certificate in Adult Education and Training (level 5) or be willing to complete these courses within 12 months of the employment.
Required: Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or hold a current NZ work permit.
Required: Have excellent communication skills.
