About the opportunity:

Our client has over 30 years in the IT industry and is looking to add a Systems Engineer to their tight-knit team in Epsom, Auckland. They are committed to having the best people in the industry work for them so full training will be provided, and there are great career development opportunities.
Role description:

You will be responsible for providing the ongoing technical support of both hardware and software applications at multiple sites. This role has a strong focus on Hyper-V Infrastructure, Microsoft On-premises and Cloud-based solutions. A big part of the role involves interacting with customers. You will be regularly visiting the customer onsite or contacting them via phone/email/chat applications for the more simple issues.
Responsibilities will include:

Diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues by asking customers targeted questions
Deploying and maintaining new and existing server infrastructures and desktops
Monitor, track and resolve both desktop and server related issues within the SLA resolution times
Ensure all issues are properly logged and unresolved issues are escalated promptly
Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers
Follow up with customers to ensure their systems are fully functional after resolution
This role will suit someone with the following background / experience / qualities:

Qualification in a relevant field
Proven work experience
Valid New Zealand drivers license is a must
Proven experience in deploying/maintaining on-premise servers using Hyper-V technology
Familiarity with SolarWinds for remote management and maintenance of endpoints
Great problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot technology issues
Right to work and live in New Zealand
