Your Title:  System Engineering Team LeadJob Location:  Christchurch, NZ; Dayton, OH, USA; Chennai, IndiaAre you looking for a role where you can lead the team that spearheads the design, development, and maintenance of cutting-edge firmware and hardware for top-tier technology?What You Will DoAs the System Engineering Delivery Team Lead in CTCT, you will be responsible for leading the global system engineering team. The Team Lead fulfills the role of Project and Product Manager for the System Engineering contribution to the overall system. This role also has the responsibility to manage and supervise a team of System Engineers, and work with the System Engineering Architect to ensure consistency, efficiency, and maintainability of the system.Your team takes responsibility for the specification, design, and documentation of future machine control systems for earthmoving and paving machines (excavators, bulldozers, graders, etc.). They work with marketing, multi-discipline engineering teams, and machine OEMs, to ensure we develop innovative, high-quality products.You will utilise your detailed knowledge of practical applications of electrical, software, and mechanical engineering skills to lay out system architecture and the systems that are dependent on them. In addition to your broad-ranging technical skills, you will have excellent interpersonal skills to work within ambiguous situations, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to define and develop products, and help transform requirements into product strategy and technical direction, including sometimes serving as the technical lead in engineering teams (leading through influence).In this role, you will:Direct supervision of a staff of 8-10 system engineers, including goal setting, performance management, and career planningProvide technical guidance to team members, and help remove roadblocks for themShows genuine interest in developing themselves, as well as othersLeadership qualities, with the ability to work well with people with diverse skillsets, and motivate others to achieve team goals and objectivesA key requirement is the ability to facilitate the efficient application of each person's time to the prioritised work by allocation and monitoring of tasks at a level of detail appropriate to each personStrong oral and written communication skills, and ability to effectively coordinate the team's efforts in the context of a global teamCollaborating across geographically dispersed CTCT sites to drive continuous improvements in development processes.What you'll bring?Along with being able to lead effectively, take ownership, and drive projects to completion, you will be a natural team player, with strong work prioritisation skills and a collaborative communication and working style. You will also need to have the following:Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related fieldsMinimum of 6 years of previous product development experienceExperience as a Software Engineering Supervisor/LeadKnowledge of C++, Java, Android, iOS, HTML, Angular 2+ is an advantageExperience in reasonable-scale development projects, C++ product development, and working with globally dispersed teams is a plusAbility to work proactively, with limited direction, and manage projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment across multiple time zonesStrong analytical and decision-making skillsEnjoy and work well in a team-based environment, as well as being self-motivated to succeed.About Your LocationThis role could be based in any of our CTCT R&D centers, located in Christchurch, New Zealand; Dayton, Ohio, USA; or Chennai, India.In Christchurch, you'll find yourself in a vibrant office setting equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, nestled in a city known for its English heritage and beautiful parks.
