About the role
We are seeking a Support Worker to join our team in supporting individuals with high levels of challenging behaviour and complex behavioural support needs.
Your daily tasks will include helping individuals recognize and respond to overwhelming emotions safely.
The role requires physical fitness, resilience, and confidence to work with challenging behaviours.
Part of your responsibilities will involve managing risks and maintaining safety.
While dealing with challenging behaviour can be tough, a positive approach can make a significant difference, promote positive behaviours, and create a supportive environment for individuals to thrive.

What you will bring
Previous experience supporting people with high and complex needs is preferred.
Experience in managing challenging behaviours and de-escalation techniques.
A calm demeanour, resilience, and confidence in handling challenging behaviours.
Cultural competence and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
Ability to work with diverse individuals with an open-minded and non-judgmental attitude.
Proficiency in using computers and tablets daily.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Physical fitness to meet support needs and participate in activities.
A Full NZ driver's license or ability to obtain one within 6 months.
