Healthcare Support Worker
We are looking for experienced Support Workers who live in Central Tauranga.
Are you wanting part time morning, evenings and weekend work to give you the flexibility to create work life balance. We have a variety of shifts to suit your life style from Monday to Sunday. These hours will be on a fortnightly roster and could range between 7am - 8:30am and 5pm - 6:30pm.
VisionWest Home HealthCare is an established provider and has over 30 years’ experience providing quality, professional home help support to people, enabling them to live independently within their own homes. Our clients include people of all ages, with varying needs.
We are currently looking for energetic, caring, committed and empathetic people to provide quality in-home care to our clients. VisionWest Home Healthcare has a Vision to see Transformed Lives and Healthy Communities. We provide support from 7am to 8.30pm, 7 days a week and offer variable hours.
What is involved in the role of a Support Worker?
Our Support Workers are part of a dedicated and well supported team, assisting our clients to live as independently as possible in their homes with a range of different tasks that include:
Household tasks – cleaning, vacuuming, laundry etc
Meal Preparation
Personal care – showering, toileting, dressing etc
Medication oversight – prompting/supervising clients with medication
Mobility assistance – assisting client’s mobility with walking frames, hoists etc
Dependent on each client's care plan. We enable clients to have the opportunity to succeed at the activities of daily living which promote dignity, self-respect and maintaining the clients quality of life and abilities.
Skills and Attributes
Good health and fitness
Ability to establish rapport with individual clients and relate to their families/whanau
Good oral and communication skills
Good time management
Reliable transport with a clean & current NZ driver's license
Mobile phone
No formal qualification is necessary, however, a certificate in health & well being is an advantage
You must have the right to work in New Zealand and you will be required to undergo police vetting and additional checks in order to be considered for this position.
