Details of the offer

Description

As the longest-running agriculturally-based university in the Southern Hemisphere, Lincoln University’s story begins with farming, but it certainly doesn’t end there. As New Zealand’s economy diversified, so have we. Lincoln University is here to enhance and enrich lives. To grow the knowledge of our students so they can shape a world that benefits from a greater understanding of the relationship between our land, the food produced from it and the ecosystems within it. With three academic faculties, one teaching division, several research centres and a range of corporate service units, the University draws its students from throughout New Zealand and from over 60 countries. Lincoln University has a student roll of around 3,000 and approximately 700 staff.

Right now we are looking for two highly motivated and energetic individuals to join our dynamic Student Liaison team. These are both fixed term contract positions.
The first role, for 12 months covering parental leave, involves successfully promoting our full range of specialist courses to prospective students and influencers, including secondary schools, community groups, employers and gap year organisations. You will be on the move, attending careers and programme specific events within your designated territory. It is imperative that you have flexibility around hours of work and the flexibility to travel and stay away from home for several days at a time, as the role requires you to travel for approximately 12 weeks on and off over the course of the year. You will also need to have a current full NZ drivers licence.

The second role is a fixed term position for 6 months and will predominantly be campus-based, though there may be some event support involvement required at times. This role will work as a conduit between the Student Connection team and the Student Liaison team, assisting with enquiries, supporting prospective students through their decision making process and facilitating campus visits.

Key to your success in these roles will be your ability to use your initiative and grab any opportunity to promote Lincoln University as a study destination. You need to be able to think on your feet and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
These role may be right for you if you:
Have a passion and drive for helping students reach their full potential
Are confident interacting with schools, communities and organisations and have established networks in these areas
Have a tertiary qualification (preferred) or a minimum of three years relevant commercial experience
Can demonstrate previous success in sales or customer service, and developing and maintaining productive relationships
Have initiative and a determination to succeed, with proven ability to set and achieve goals and targets
Can present well to a variety of audiences, with excellent communication skills
Are self-managing and solution-focused
