Structural Fabricator

Our well-known Dunedin client is a well-established player in the New Zealand engineering market.
Their looking for highly skilled Structural Fabricators who take pride in their ability to deliver accurate, defect-free products, on time and on budget.
Applicants should have good knowledge of medium-heavy structural steel fabrication.
They will be able to read from detailed structural steel drawings.

What you will do:
- Provide at all times a level of Fabrication and Welding that complies with our clients Quality Assessment Process and Project Contractual obligations
- Read and accurately interpret drawings
- Fabricate, assemble and weld structural components in the workshop and on site as
required
- Identify and report any drawing discrepancies and other issues that affect production to
Supervisor/Manager immediately
- Check welds in process and once completed
- Complete required documentation
- Daily checking and routine maintenance of equipment
- Ensure workshop equipment, including cutting, welding and overhead gantry cranes, are used appropriately for each job
Skills and experience
- Relevant tertiary qualification in an Engineering / Fabrication / Welding discipline; OR
Minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience
- Must be competent to work unsupervised during site work
- Previous experience as a structural steel fabricator
- Welding qualification ANZS2980 (or equivalent) would be beneficial, but not essential
- Gantry operation (ideal)
The successful applicant must follow strict quality control procedures and Health and Safety guidelines.
You will need to pass a pre employment drug screen and Ministry of Justice background check
