Opportunity
Waitemata DHB is looking to appoint a programme manager to lead facilities development in respect of the Mason Clinic.
The role would suit a highly capable project manager who wishes to enhance his or her career by successfully leading a significant and challenging programme of work.
Background
Waitemata DHB is embarking on a significant development of the Mason Clinic, replacing leaky buildings and progressively developing a campus that conforms to best international practice for the design of forensic facilities.
It is envisaged that this programme of work will be undertaken in phases, over the next 10 years.
Requirement
Reporting to a Senior Responsible Owner (SRO), who is a member of the Waitemata DHB Executive, the programme manager will:
â?¢ Lead the development of site master planning at the Mason Clinic
â?¢ Oversee the development of business cases for Crown funding, including the work of the business case writer
â?¢ Oversee the work of internal and external project managers or specialist advisors on particular facilities development and construction projects
â?¢ Ensure that all activities are well informed by service views
â?¢ Keep the SRO fully informed of progress on all matters relating to the programme
â?¢ Manage and provide timely and comprehensive reports on progress
â?¢ Elevate promptly any conflicts that cannot be satisfactorily resolved
â?¢ Undertake such other activities as the SRO may direct.
As well as a proven and successful track record in developing and constructing facilities, the programme manager must:
â?¢ Be a strategic leader who can see the bigger picture and work pro-actively to deliver an agreed vision
â?¢ Have highly developed relationship management skills, adept at managing relationships at all levels
â?¢ Be comfortable managing with a high degree of ambiguity
â?¢ Be a completer-finisher and have an attention to detail so that projects are delivered on time, to budget and to high quality
â?¢ Have the flexibility, political nous and judgement to manage challenges and opportunities that arise.
Specific deliverables are:
â?¢ The development of a Programme Business Case and Tranche 1 business case by June 2019
â?¢ The completion of a site master plan for the Mason Clinic to feed into the above
â?¢ The opening of the Tanekaha replacement unit by March 2020.
Appointment
It is envisaged that the role will be filled either by secondment from an existing firm or a fixed term contract for an initial period of 12 months, renewable for further periods as may be agreed.
