Note: 2X Strategic Development Leads (two vacancies available)
Your Mission
In this role, reporting to the Head of Strategic Development within Strategic Delivery, your mission will be to help: (1) develop AR&C’s Divisional and business strategies; and (2) execute discrete initiatives that support these strategies
Divisional Performance Expert Purpose
A Strategic Development Lead will support two types of deliverables for the Australia Retail & Commercial Division:
Develop Divisional & business strategiesin simple, logical, structured, fact-based, compelling and executable forms, by ensuring strategy formulation is practical, data-driven, reflective of external trends, collaborative, and aligned to other strategies within ANZ
Execute discrete strategic initiativesthat support these strategies

What’s in your toolkit?
Problem solving & insight: Advanced problem-solving skills, comfort with ambiguity and complexity, and ability to conduct quantitative and qualitative analyses of customer, bank and industry data that delivers insight to support strategic intent
Intellectual leadership: Exceptional strategic thinking skills, with commercial, creative, data-driven mindset to identify and build market leading strategies and strategic initiatives
Project management: Efficient and effective project management skills to set a good cadence of output and engagement
Relationship management: Ability to build relationships that engage, influence and align stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
Communication & presence: Highly-developed written and verbal communication skills and executive presence to deliver structured, simple and compelling presentations that articulate all aspects of strategy (rationale, objectives, positioning, options, recommendations)
Enablement: Ability to guide both Strategic Delivery team members and business leads on strategic mindset
Leadership and culture: Role models and promotes ANZ values, New Ways of Leading and aspirational culture
A Day in the Life … Everyday will be different but some of the key things you will do are:
Liaise with Strategic Delivery, ALT and business leads to: (1) develop AR&C’s Divisional and business strategies, in partnership with the ALT, business leads and functional stakeholders; and (2) execute discrete strategic initiatives that support these strategies, including via multidisciplinary teams of colleagues from across ANZ
Support the Strategic Delivery Portfolio, ALT and business leads to ensure alignment between Divisional & Business strategies and Group strategy
Partner with business leads to align their strategic initiatives to Divisional and Business strategies, and guide them to drive strategic initiative implementation post Strategic Development team involvement
Build and maintain industry relationships to inform understanding of key trends, opportunities and challenges
Collaborate effectively with external experts (if and when required)
