This role is both physically and mentally demanding, requiring you to complete complex tasks that need high levels of concentration, undertake manual, dexterous work, and operate a broad range of equipment.You will be required to work rotating, rostered shifts including weekends and evenings.About the Team/Service/LocationWe are a team of patient-focused, dedicated professionals responsible for the reprocessing and distribution of reusable medical devices (RMD) used in surgical and diagnostic procedures in our Operating Theatre and other clinical areas.
The role involves a series of complex interrelated processes that include decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilisation of all RMD to a high standard following established department procedures, best practice, and compliance standards.About YouOur ideal applicant will have either a Certificate in Sterilising Technology or equivalent, plus work-related health experience.
However, on-the-job training is provided, and you must be willing to enrol and attain the Certificate in Sterilising Technology in a prescribed timeframe (2 years from appointment).This isn't just 'a job'.
