We are seeking experienced Steel Fixers to join Extrastaff Limited.

Motivation and results-driven attitude are essential.You may be required to work across various locations in the country to support our projects, so flexibility regarding work sites is preferred.Responsibilities:Position and secure steel bars, rods, cables, or mesh in concrete forms using fasteners, rod bending machines, blowtorches, or hand tools.Space and fasten rods in forms according to blueprints, using wire and pliers.Determine quantities, sizes, shapes, and locations of reinforcing rods from blueprints, sketches, or oral instructions.Place blocks under rebar to elevate bars off the deck when reinforcing floors.Cut rods to required lengths with metal shears, hacksaws, bar cutters, or acetylene torches.Cut and fit wire mesh or fabric, position it in concrete to reinforce structures.Bend steel rods with hand tools or rod bending machines and weld them using arc-welding equipment.Perform all other duties as assigned.Skills and Experience:Minimum of 1 year relevant steel fixing experience or qualification equivalent to NZQF level 2 or 3.Friendly demeanor, good time management, and excellent work ethic.Strong time management skills.Commitment to learning and developing skills within the industry.Sound knowledge of health and safety procedures.Reliable and hardworking.Pay Conditions:Minimum $25.50 per hour to a maximum of $32.00 per hour.Hours of Work:Minimum of 30 hours guaranteed per week.Location:Occasional travel may be required to Auckland, Northland, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Hawke's Bay, Taranaki, Gisborne, Whanganui-Manawatu, Wellington, Marlborough, Nelson-Tasman, Canterbury, West Coast, Otago, and Southland.Employment Type:This role is permanent and full-time.If interested, please send your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and skills.
